AKASAKA INTERCITY CONFERENCE

Business professionals shaping the future of companies gather. Japan's largest hybrid conference on open innovation.

OISUMMIT (Open Innovation Summit) is Japan's largest conference for open innovation practitioners, hosted by AUBA, Japan's largest open innovation platform.
Building on the philosophy of its predecessor, Japan Open Innovation Fes (JOIF), it has evolved beyond a mere venue for sharing case studies into a space where “decision-making” and “the next steps in co-creation” emerge.
This event attracts numerous decision-makers—executives, board members, and business leaders actively practicing open innovation. Sessions delve deeply into real-world practical knowledge shared by innovators at the forefront of their fields.
OISUMMIT is not a place where insights are merely heard and forgotten. It is designed as a practical arena where participants actually meet co-creation partners, fostering dialogue and relationship-building that leads to business opportunities.
Moving open innovation from “strategy” to “implementation.” OISUMMIT aims to become the hub for co-creation that will pioneer Japan's next industries and value creation.

CONTENTS

Open Innovation Field

The OISummit exhibition area, “Open Innovation Field,” is not merely a display space but a “practical arena” where co-creation flourishes. It facilitates dialogue that transcends boundaries between large corporations, startups, SMEs, and even global players, fostering concrete collaborations and business creation. Where technology, ideas, capital, and networks intersect, it provides a real-world open innovation field that serves as the starting point for new value creation.

Future Innovation Forum

This is the main stage dedicated to addressing the structural transformation of Japan’s industries. Starting from the question, “Where should Japan’s industries begin to change?”, it explores the realities of open innovation, the redefinition of growth, and the organizational and institutional frameworks that enable successful co-creation. Bringing together leaders from government, business, and investment, the session delivers an end-to-end discussion from vision to execution. It also creates direct connections with future innovators through programs such as Startup Pitch 2026 and Open Innovation Gate 2026.

AI Innovation Forum

The AI & Innovation Forum is a university-style session designed for structured learning and active discussion. Bringing together consultants, startups, and industry practitioners, it explores the forefront of generative AI and shifts in industrial structure through real-world co-creation. The program also features a special lecture by Seiichiro Yonekura, “Introduction to Innovation,” offering a historical perspective on Japan’s current position. Through a dynamic exchange between theory and practice, the forum examines how AI can be integrated into new business strategies.

Regional Forum

This session explores Japan’s future from the frontlines of social challenges. Bringing together players tackling issues such as welfare, poverty, and education, it seeks breakthroughs through open innovation. Through regional startup and corporate collaboration cases, it highlights how regions can shape Japan’s path forward—while also addressing education and next-generation talent development.

Global & Capital Markets Forum

This session redefines Japan’s potential from the perspectives of capital and global dynamics. Centered on corporate transformation and impact innovation in the post-SDGs era, it brings together corporations, VCs, and global players. Grounded in the realities of capital markets and international trends, the session explores strategies for Japanese companies to compete on the global stage.
